Join us on Sunday 22nd June at the Cheltenham Food & Frink Festival, Montpellier Gardens for the Chilli Eating Competition.
Starts: 2pm to 3pm
12 brave competitors will battle it out for the everlasting fame of being crowned Cheltenham’s ultimate chilli eating warrior.
The Winner will recive a Trophy as the champion chilli eater 2025.
COMPETITION DETAILS
12 brave competitors will battle it out for the everlasting fame of being crowned Cheltenham’s ultimate chilli eating warrior.
The competition will start off easy and get progressively harder & hotter, starting with Jalapeños, and progressing to Carolina Reapers and beyond!
- Disqualification is by way of knock out, tap out, pass out.
- NO napkins NO gloves
- NO standing up
- A glass of milk will be provided to taunt you into tapping out.
- You will be given a sick bucket.
- You must eat whatever is put in front of you
- Time limits apply.
The Winner will recive a Trophy as the champion chilli eater 2025.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
You must sign an indemnity waiver before entering.
The judges’ decisions are final.
Cheltenham Chilli Eating Championship, Cheltenham Food & drink Festival, Garden Events Limited, Cliffton Chilli Club and sponsors & affiliates will not be held liable for injuries, death or sickness.
All competitors must by 18+ & deemed to be of sound mental & physical standing.
If any competitor has any allergies whatsoever, they must stipulate upon application to the competition.

The Clifton Chilli Club, we are a collective of experienced and knowledgeable people dedicated to the almighty chilli. Our backgrounds include catering, food production, adult education, chilli farming, entertainment, food writing and more.
Over the past 16 years we have been involved in hundreds of festivals and events, providing services such as chilli eating contests, educational talks on a variety of chilli based topics, cooking demonstrations and event management. We have performed in front of a few hundred people to crowds of over 20,000.
