Mezcal is the Mexican agave spirit with its roots in the pre-hispanic era. Coming out of the shadows of its big cousin tequila, it’s finally having its time in the sun, gaining international acclaim. With the terroir of wine and the complexity of whisky, it’s as rich in culture as it is diverse in flavour.
The team from Época Mezcal will guide you through its history and production processes across Mexico, tasting a curated selection to demonstrate its attributes. In the process we will dispel myths and demonstrate how this artisanal, refined drink is on a different planet to the shot of tequila you had in a bar.
This talk is free, so no pre-booked tickets and runs for 45minutes with sampling, it is a case of arriving 15minutes minimum before the tasting starts, it is first come first seated.
